UKLO 2018
A group of eleven pupils recently took part in the UK Linguistics Olympiad. The UKLO is an annual national competition in which pupils have to solve a series of very tough linguistic data problems. The competition selects the best candidates from around the world to participate in the International Linguistics Olympiad.
Nine Sixth Form pupils entered the competition at advanced level, and Year 10 pupils Natasha Symes and Tianlu Wang entered at Intermediate level. Particular congratulations are due to Bill Cao, who achieved a Silver award, and to Hannah Feben Smith, Harry Jachuck, Euan McGreevy and Abigail Thompson, who were awarded Bronze, and to our other competitors: Helen Grout, Katie Meikle, George Ruskin and Goh Shieh Yeow.
