U15 cricket champions of Kent and Sussex
The U15 boys, fresh off a damp night exercise at CCF camp, beat Tonbridge to be crowned champions of Kent and Sussex and now progress to the regional round of the National U15 cricket cup. This will be contested in St. Albans on Tuesday next week with a place at the national finals day being the reward for the victor.
The boys overcame a lack of sleep, flooded bashas and the humidity to post 144 for 2 with Danial 71* from 56 and Tom 51* from 40. In reply Tonbridge were pegged back by some excellent slow bowling and sharp ground fielding. Ben van Noort turned the tide with 15 for 1 in his 4 overs and then Freddie and Will turned the screw as Tonbridge finished 15 runs short.
Then it was back to the barracks.
Best of luck at the regional round next week.
