Textiles exchange to Vienna
The second part of the biennial Vienna exchange took place at Hetzendorf Fashion Institute. In September 2017 Austrian students were hosted in the College to experience the British boarding school way of life as well as a sixth form visit to the V&A Balenciaga Exhibition. This April art textiles pupils studied alongside students at the Hetzendorf Fashion Institute. At the Institute our pupils had the opportunity to focus on a specialist area of their choice: accessories and shoes, dressmaking, knitwear, millinery, product-design bags, or textile design. In addition there were daily trips to discover Vienna’s imperial palaces, art galleries and fascinating museums, including Mozart’s house, the Belvedere Palace housing Gustav Klimt’s ‘Kiss’ as well as exploring the shops.
