Sussex U13 hockey
On Monday 24 February the College hosted the U13 Sussex Schools hockey tournaments for boys and girls. This is part of the national England Hockey ‘In2Hockey’ competition.
Twelve teams of boys and thirteen teams of girls enjoyed a day of competitive hockey at the Eastbourne College Beresford and Summerdown astroturf pitches.
The semi-finalists were Bede’s Prep, Hurstpierpoint College, Oathall Community College and St. Andrew’s Prep for the boys and Bede’s, Burgess Hill School for Girls, Hurstpierpoint and St Andrew’s for the girls.
The finals for both the boys and girls were hard fought between Bede’s Prep and St Andrew’s Prep. The final results were:
U13 boys – Bede’s Prep 4 St. Andrew’s Prep 0
U13 girls – Bede’s Prep 1 St. Andrew’s Prep 0
All four of the finalist teams progress to the regional rounds in March.
