Stunning swimming
On Tuesday 2 February a team of 21 swimmers from Eastbourne College travelled to Tonbridge School to take part in the 2016 Weald and Downland Trophy competition.
The senior girls (Liberty Balmer, Augusta King, Scarlett Scotland and Beth Tagg) produced some stunning performances to win the Weald and Downland Trophy for their category and the senior boys finished in second place, narrowly missing out to the Tonbridge School team.
It was an exceptionally successful day for the College team with 26 new personal best times set by the 21 swimmers. Tom Alston, Year 12 Gonville, set a blistering time in the 100m breaststroke event – breaking a College record that had stood for 35 years!
