Steeplechase 2014
After fears of disruption by winter storms, the weather lifted for a few hours to allow the annual College steeplechase to take place under blue skies on the South Downs. Saturated ground meant late adjustments to the route but the distance and challenge remained undiminished. Over 400 students and 25 staff members completed the event.
Luke Howard (Year 12 Powell) won the senior boys event and Bex Towey (Year 12 Nugent) won the girls senior race. The first member of staff to finish was Mr Giles Bowmer, Head of Economics and master-in-charge of cross country.
The winners of the junior and intermediate races were:
Junior | Intermediate | |
Girls | Isabel Siggs | Rosie Down |
Boys | Oliver Morss-Davies | Edward Mannhardt |
The overall results for the houses were:
Place | Girls | Boys |
1st | Watt | Craig |
2nd | Blackwater | Reeves |
3rd | Nugent | Powell |
