Serving up yet more success
Eastbourne College girls and boys enjoyed a successful tournament in the Independent Schools Tennis Championships held at Eton College over the weekend. Organised by the Independent Schools Tennis Association, the event has been running for over 70 years and brings together about 75 schools from across the country in a fantastic festival of tennis at the end of each summer term.
The College teams have once again performed impressively with one of the teams finishing in the top three of the country.
Playing superbly, the top U15 pair of Karina and Sasha reached the main draw quarter finals and were placed sixth overall.
The U19 team of Antoinette and Emily reached the last eight too, whilst Phoebe and Summer beat a Millfield pair in their quarter final to face Surbiton High School in the semis-finals After a close first set, they went down 4-6 2-6 and finished third in the country overall.
The boys U15 pairs reached the Plate knockout with Batuhan and Miguel reaching the semi-final before losing narrowly.
