Saatchi Gallery visit
Year 11 artists from the College recently enjoyed a trip to London to visit the Paper Exhibition at the Saatchi Gallery and then the V&A Museum.
At the Saatchi, pupils had plenty of time to record works and take photographs for their coursework development as well as be inspired by the range of unusual work that was on show.
At the V&A, The Memory Palace was a particular favourite for all students. The collaborative piece was a response to the book by Hari Kunzru and was illustrated in a range of media. Pupils were encouraged to add their own thoughts and illustrations on the interactive screen at the end of the exhibit. The V&A Museum offered plenty of opportunity to look at contemporary ceramics as well as visit more traditional works on display.
All participants had a very enjoyable and productive day – as evidenced in some fantastic prep responses following the trip.
