Quiz winners
On the evening of 2 March, Eastbourne College hosted the Sixth Form Quiz, an annual local contest sponsored by the Rotary Club of Beachy Head. The Club members set the questions, kindly provided prizes and made up the audience for the event.
The event was pleased this year to welcome back both Rodney Warren as genial question master, and Sussex Downs College as competitors alongside teams from Bede’s and Moira House as well as Eastbourne College. These four teams of four sixth formers each faced six rounds of questions on topics as diverse as Entertainment, Literature, Music, and Science and Technology.
In a close finish, it was the current affairs and general knowledge rounds that decided the matter, with the home team winning through by a narrow margin to their third consecutive victory. The winning team consisted of Bill Corfield, Eleanor Davies, David Meijer and Tom Page. They enjoyed their evening and their prizes – though no competitor left empty-handed, thanks to the Rotary Club’s generosity.
