Philippine Relief Day
Instead of the usual varied menu, lunch in the College Dining Hall on 21 November was a meal of stir fried rice with either chicken or vegetables. The money saved from this will be added to other funds raised around the College to support the relief effort in the Philippines.
Five members of the College catering team are from the Philippines. Thankfully their families have not been badly affected by the typhoon and its resulting devastation, but as part of the larger Eastbourne-based Philippine community they know many families who are suffering.
Pupils and staff dressed in red, blue, white and yellow – the colours of the Philippine flag – and everyone made a minimum donation of £2 towards the relief fund.
