NSEA finals
During the Michaelmas half-term break, the Eastbourne College Equestrian Team competed at the NSEA Championship Finals at Addington Manor in Buckinghamshire. This was a wonderful experience for everyone – the riders, their parents, the Team Trainer, Team Manager and the horses.
In the 90/95cm show jumping event the team which comprised of Imo Carr, Lauren Carr, Rosie Kelly and India Piper-Dadswell were initially placed third out of 44 school teams in the first round. An extraordinary achievement with four clear rounds between them against schools and colleges in England, Scotland and Wales. This qualified them for the jump off in the evening and in the arena they performed very well under pressure and with a large audience, they were placed 7th.
In the jumping with style 80/85 cm class the team which included Imo Carr, Lauren Carr, Serena Flower and India Piper-Dadswell achieved three clear rounds between them and came 16th out of 38 schools. Two College teams competed in the 80/85cm show jumping event. The Red Team (Imo Carr, Rosie Kelly, India Piper-Dadswell and Will Reeves) finished in 22nd place with one pole down between them and the Blue Team (Lauren Carr, Harriett Dipper, Lily Kelly and Serena Flower) were placed 37th out of 43 school teams.
