Inside Project 150
For the first time since the development started, we have been granted access to the inside of the new classroom block. Work is progressing well throughout building.
Mike Rozier, Senior Project Manager for VINCI provided the following progress update today:
Classroom block:
The roof is largely watertight and next week the glass roof-lights will be fitted. The brickwork is continuing and it will soon be time to install the windows.
Internally, the underfloor heating and screeds are complete and electrical and mechanical installation is ongoing throughout the building. Plastering has commenced on the top floor and will continue floor-by-floor.
Sports block:
The remaining area of excavation has been completed and drainage is currently being installed for the changing rooms and shower areas. The swimming pool area has been prepared and the pool construction will commence in the next two weeks.
The basement walls are being formed along with the ground floor structure that forms the equipment stores off the main sports hall.
