Harvest Festival 2016
The Eastbourne College community has recently celebrated Harvest Festival. As an integral part of this event, pupils donated items of food or toiletries to support the work of the Eastbourne Foodbank.
The Foodbank supplies emergency food aid together with toiletries and clothing to local individuals or families who are in crisis. In 2016, it supplied three days’ worth of food to almost 9,000 individuals.
In addition to the Harvest Festival Foodbank collection which raised awareness of the struggle faced by many people in the town, a number of College sixth form pupils volunteer to work with the Foodbank each week as part of the S@S (Service at School) programme.
