Geographers visit Exmoor

During the first four days of half-term a group of eleven Year 12 Geographers enjoyed bright sunshine and dry weather during a field-trip to Exmoor.

The group stayed at a field study centre and investigated impacts of tourism in Minehead, downstream changes in the nature of a small stream flowing off Exmoor, coastal processes and management in Porlock Bay and contrasts between rural settlements within and just outside Exmoor National Park. This provided valuable revision for this summer’s AS exams as well as an excellent foundation for the Geographical Skills paper in the A2 exam.
