Fashion in Vienna
At the beginning of the Easter holidays three textiles pupils – Marianne Smith, Bethany Stephens and Stephanie Waring – visited Vienna to study at the Hetzendorf Fashion Institute. They were warmly welcomed into the homes of local host families.
Each morning they explored the beautiful Austrian city before joining the fashion students in their lessons at the Institute. The Eastbourne College pupils had the opportunity to design and make a fascinator (a type of hair accessory) with millinery students, join a life-drawing class and to use the screen-printing facilities to create their own bespoke T-shirts.
The Textiles Department is looking forward to welcoming the three Austrian hosts to Eastbourne in September for the second part of the exchange arrangement.
