Cross country success
The Eastbourne College cross-country team travelled to Waterhall Playing Fields in Brighton on Wednesday 20 January to compete in the Sussex Schools 2016 Cross-Country Championships.
George Pool, Year 9 Craig, produced a stunning performance to win the Junior Boys race from a field of 160 runners. He has automatically qualified for the National Finals.
Despite tough, muddy conditions the Eastbourne College runners all showed remarkable determination and persistence. The results were as follows:
Junior Boys – 160 runners in total: George Pool 1st, Adam Armitage 11th and Henry Turnbull 23rd
Junior Girls – 180 runners in total: Ella Hemming 32nd, Aimée Wood 52nd, Harriett Morss-Davies 76th and Mirabelle Kelly 98th
Intermediate Girls – 85 runners in total: Annie Wilson 43rd
Intermediate Boys – 130 runners in total: Daniel Toole 72nd and Max Redman 73rd
