Confirmation Service May 2014
On Sunday 11 May, 20 Eastbourne College pupils were confirmed into the Church of England by the Rt Revd Michael Turnbull, former Bishop of Durham. The service took place in the College Chapel.
Bishop Michael has two grandchildren at the College, one of them, Hugh was one of the candidates. The confirmation candidates had been meeting with the Chaplain on a weekly basis since January and they enjoyed a Confirmation away-day at Ashburnham Place on 6 May.
Four of the candidates gave short addresses explaining why they had chosen to be confirmed. They were presented with a copy of the book ‘If God, Then What’, written by Old Eastbournian Andrew Wilson.

Poppy Newton, Charles Pendry, Teanuanua Picard, Arthur Pickard, Madeleine Thorpe,
Hugh Turnbull, Hebe Wohlrab, Henrietta Wolstenholme, Matilda Wolstenholme and
Tilly Wood.
