Chinese New Year cakes
On Friday 31 January a charity cake sale was held as part of the Chinese New Year celebrations at the College. The idea was originally put forward by Year 12 pupil Shan Zhang who approached the College Charity Society to help her organise the event.
In addition to a selection of traditional Chinese cakes and sweets, pupils and staff sprang into action baking a wide selection of delicious cakes. Particular mention to Vicky Watson (Yr11 Blackwater) whose contribution included a large cake and a substantial quantity of delicious homemade cupcakes.
The event raised nearly £300 and the funds will be sent to the Red Cross in Tibet where the money will be used to help buy warm winter clothes for the children.
