Charity lunch March 2014
On Friday 14 March staff and pupils at the College swapped their usual wide choice of hot and cold dishes at lunch for a simple meal of soup, a bread roll and a piece of fruit. The difference in cost between this simple meal and the normal full menu was donated to the College charity ECHO (Eastbourne College Help Overseas).
The money raised will go to the Hi Five Breakfast Club at the Malimba Community School in Zambia.
Their community constantly struggles for food due to droughts, flood and elephants eating the crops. There is extensive poverty and the children often go to school hungry or miss school to seek food. ECHO helps raise money for this fantastic Breakfast Club where 240 of the children are able to join together and eat breakfast cooked by volunteers.
