Cambridge Varsity hero
OE Sam Brooks (Craig 2007 – 2012), goalkeeper for the Cambridge University Varsity squad was the hero of the hour as his team claimed victory for the fourth year in a row.
In a Varsity Match that was decided on penalty shuffles for the first time, Sam made three outstanding saves to deny Oxford victory after they had fought back from 2-0 down to send the game into a shootout.
Cambridge captain, Wes Howell, commented, “Sam Brooks is a world-class keeper. He has played for England under-21s and he’s a great guy, vice-captain this year, and he has been phenomenal. He deserved the credit for winning us the match in the last play.”
