Bourne Beautiful
The College welcomed professional photographer Alistair Guy who is leading a project, with the help of Mrs Lawson, which has inclusion and diversity at its heart. Alistair took photos of volunteer College pupils and staff, male and female, without the usual adornments they use when presenting themselves to the world – styled hair, best clothes or make-up. With society placing pressures on individuals of all ages and genders to conform to stereotypes, we were interested to show the beauty that is revealed, and the empowerment achieved, when we ignore them.
The Bourne Beautiful portraits will be exhibited in the school later this year, and it will include background information on why and how the initiative came about.
