ARTiculation
ARTiculation is a national sixth form public speaking competition designed to promote the appreciation and discussion of art. The inaugural event at the College took place in the Birley Centre on Monday 20 January 2014. All art scholars were present to listen to presentations by each of the six competitors. The judges selected the following pupils to receive prizes:
Katie Forster – 1st place, for her vibrant presentation on the making of David Hockney’s ‘A Bigger Grand Canyon’
Will Dickens – 2nd place, for his entertaining presentation on the work of Banksy
Phoebe Hughes – 3rd place, for her presentation on Graham Foster’s ‘Hall of History’
Katie will compete in the regional heats on 4 February in Folkestone. These will be filmed by the BBC for the Culture Show.
