Appointment of New Headmaster
Eastbourne College is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr Thomas Lawson to succeed Simon Davies as Headmaster of Eastbourne College from September 2016.
Tom joins the College from Christ’s Hospital where he has been Deputy Head since 2013.
Tom graduated from Christ Church, Oxford, in 1997, where he read Philosophy, Politics and Economics. He taught Economics and Humanities at Winchester College for fifteen years, where he was a Housemaster for eight years and Under Master for two years.
Tom is married to Jessica, who currently teaches Biology at Christ’s Hospital, and they have two children, Xanthe (8) and Hector (6).
Sir Kevin O’Donoghue, Chairman of the Board of Governors commented: “The Governors are very pleased to be able to appoint Tom from a strong and extensive field of candidates who were attracted by the opportunity to lead Eastbourne College. Tom joins us with a wide range of experience of leadership at Christ’s Hospital and previously at Winchester.
As we approach the College’s 150th anniversary Tom will lead the College as it continues to provide a broad and distinct education to its pupils while maintaining Eastbourne’s ethos and its commitment to serve the wider community.”
