The Cricketer Good Schools Guide 2019
Last Friday, The Cricketer published its Good Schools Guide 2019, featuring the top 100 secondary schools and the College was delighted to be included once again.
The Cricketer is the world’s best-selling cricket magazine. Established in 1921 by Sir Pelham ‘Plum’ Warner, The Cricketer has retained its position as the most respected voice in cricket and now has a rapidly growing digital presence with a distinct online voice.
The shortlist follows an exhaustive process which saw more than 350 schools submit entries to be included in the guide. All entries were judged against an extensive set of criteria, with all the chosen schools having outstanding facilities, fixture programmes and coaching.
For the third year running, Eastbourne College cricket celebrates its enduring status as a gold standard coaching provider and looks to the future for inspiration.
As an example of the College’s ongoing commitment, it has recently signed Kent county and England international cricket professional James Tredwell to the coaching team. Tredwell joins longstanding Director of Cricket at the College, former Kent and Notts player, Rob Ferley, the two of them offering decades of experience to young hopefuls.
Along with cutting-edge performance technology (Merlyn bowling machine and Pitchvision), bright indoor spaces with full run-ups, and a fully specified gym, the College’s year-round cricketing set-up is formidable, offering young players of all standards a wonderful opportunity to progress; bespoke strength and conditioning programmes (including yoga and pilates) from the College’s dedicated strength and conditioning coach also offering elite players the edge on the competition.
