Textiles day trip in London
Sixth Form textiles pupils spent an exciting day in London at Graduate Fashion Week exhibition followed by the Fashion in Nature Exhibition at the Victoria & Albert museum. Graduate Fashion Week is the world’s leading event celebrating the creativity of students and graduates within fashion. Showcasing the work of over 1,000 of the very best students and graduates from the most influential and inspiring universities around the world, Graduate Fashion Week represents the future of creative design talent. Our pupils were able to speak to university course leaders, fashion and textiles graduates and gained an insight as to what their own next steps might be, as well as gaining valuable advice about creating and presenting their own portfolios for interviews next year. A highlight of the day was viewing De Montfort University’s catwalk show. After lunch in the very vibrant and fashionable Brick Lane, the pupils visited the V&A to see the latest fashion exhibition Fashion in Nature. It was an inspirational day for all involved.
