Leah Chowdry Inspires Eastbourne College Pupils with Her Channel Crossing Story
Leah Chowdry, the record-breaking swimmer, visited Eastbourne College to share the story of her incredible feat—swimming across the English Channel. In 2019, Leah became one of the few women to conquer the 21-mile stretch of freezing water between England and France, battling exhaustion, freezing temperatures, and waves along the way.
During her talk, Leah emphasised the importance of perseverance, telling students. Leah also spoke about breaking barriers in a male-dominated sport, showing that women can excel in extreme challenges. She encouraged pupils to pursue their dreams, regardless of obstacles.
After the talk, Leah answered questions from the pupils, sharing insights into her preparation and mental resilience during the swim.
