2024 norah sande award piano recitals
Location: Birley CentreThe Norah Sande Award competition attracts exceptional entrants and has become a popular annual date in the cultural calendar of Eastbourne.
Last year’s winner was Royal Academy of Music student Julian Chan who is one of the most innovative pianists of his generation. On Saturday, the semi-finalists perform 20-minute programmes. Entry is free and the audience is welcome to join and leave between competitors’ performances.
On Sunday, three finalists will each play a full recital programme incorporating classical, romantic and contemporary pieces. Tea is served while the adjudicators deliberate. The results will be announced at about 5.00pm and the winner receives a cheque for £2000 and a concerto concert with the Eastbourne Symphony Orchestra.

Final 2.30pm; £10 including tea / coffee
Tickets for Sunday’s final can be booked on Saturday or on the door. Under-18s free.
