Charity Hockey
On Sunday 26 February a group of Old Eastbournians got together a team for a charity hockey match against current College pupils and staff at Beresford.
The match, organised by Year 13 pupil Georgia Yarnall, was played to raise funds for Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).
Georgia had been inspired by her cousin OE Jonny Robinson (Craig 2008–13) who had received care at GOSH as a teenager, and was captain of the 1st hockey team whilst at the College.
Jonny was one of the OEs who returned to play in the charity match, alongside Tom Bloor (Powell 2010–12), Will Francis (Reeves 2005–10), Natasha Gale (School 2011–16), Phoebe Gale (School 2011–16), Georgia Horsman (Blackwater 2011–14), Imran Iqbal (Reeves 2005–10), Toby Marriott (Pennell 2008–13), Richard Pilbeam (Reeves 2009–11) and Matt Robinson (Craig 2005–10).
Assisting with the OE side was Jamie Francis, plus Bill Collins and Sam Leonard from Eastbourne Hockey Club.
The final score was 3–2 to the College and over £1000 was raised through match fees, sponsorship and food sales.
