Remembrance 2016
The College community came together on Sunday 13 November to mark Remembrance Sunday 2016.
The morning started with a service in the College Chapel led by the Chaplain, Revd. David Ibbotson. Col Anthony Lamb, Eastbourne College CCF Contingent Commander, gave the homily in which he talked of the need to remember those who have made the supreme sacrifice in past world wars whilst ensuring that we support in every way possible those who continue to make sacrifices on our behalf in the armed services of today.
The OE Wreath was laid by Capt (Ret) Andrew Jelinek OE. Andrew left the College in 2003 and then went on to commission in the Life Guards (Household Cavalry Regiment). Andrew was injured whilst serving on operations in Afghanistan and left the Army after convalescence and rehabilitation. He now works for the National Trust and we were delighted and honoured to welcome him back to the College to lay the wreath on behalf of all Old Eastbournians.
