Showjumping success June 2016
The Eastbourne College Equestrian Team delivered a series of outstanding results at the recent NSEA Championship Qualifier competition at Felbridge Showground.
Despite a field of 114 riders from 22 school teams in the 90/95cm show jumping class, the Eastbourne College Blue Team (Nick Crowther, Charlie Hamilton, India Piper-Dadswell and Mirabelle Kelly) gained three clear rounds between them and finished in second place overall – an extraordinary achievement. All riders also qualified for the NSEA Championship Finals at Addington Manor in Buckinghamshire from 21-24 October and will represent the College nationally at this event .
Nick and his horse Back to Black qualified as the third fastest rider to be awarded a clear round and will also represent the College as an individual at Addington, while Charlie Hamilton was the fifth fastest rider with a clear round and has been nominated for the plate competition at Keysoe in December.
In the 80cm class India Piper-Dadswell was the fourth fastest individual rider out of 130 competitors and was awarded a place as an individual rider at the finals at Addington Manor.
While the one-metre team (Nick Crowther, Rosie Kelly, India Piper-Dadswell and Will Reeves) finshed third and also qualified. Other clear rounds were achieved by Serena Flower and Lizzie Green. Everyone enjoyed this thoroughly exciting and successful day.
