Team challenge event
On Thursday 9 June twelve Eastbourne College Year 12 pupils helped deliver a Team Challenge Day for local schools. Under the expert guidance of Mr Anthony Lamb, Deputy Head Co-Curricular, and Mr John Hayward, Transport Manager, 40 young people spent the afternoon engaged in a variety of tasks which challenged both their physical and mental dexterity.
Supported by both Eastbourne College pupils and trainee PE teachers from Sussex Downs College, the young people really enjoyed the afternoon and all left smiling – particularly following the excellent BBQ.
This project is just one of the exciting initiatives undertaken by the Eastbourne Schools Partnership. The partnership consists of eleven schools and colleges located in and around the Eastbourne area. By linking resources, expertise, enthusiasm and commitment it aims to develop projects and ideas that inspire, excite and offer creative opportunities for children and young people. In so doing it hopes to enable young people to work together for mutual benefit and the benefit of others across our town.
In October 2015, David Hoare, chair of OFSTED commented, “The Eastbourne Schools Partnership is a shining example of schools working together for the benefit of the pupils and the wider community”.
