Easter in Vienna
Over the Easter holidays five pupils studying textiles at the College enjoyed a highly successful visit to Vienna. Samantha Adelstein, Amelia Allen, Phoebe Gale, Lily Kelly and Rebecca Nurse spent five days exploring the city and experimenting with their creativity.
There was a balance between classes taken at Hetzendorf Fashion Institute and sightseeing in central Vienna. The girls enjoyed workshops in millinery, book-binding, life-drawing and screen-printing and a PE lesson which included Hip Hop and Ultimate Frisbee.
In addition to visiting art galleries – the Albertina, the Leopold and the Museum of Modern Art – the group found time to marvel at St Stephen's Cathedral, several Viennese palaces and many beautiful gardens.
The pupils stayed with Austrian host families who were so impressed by the girls that every one of them has been extended a welcome to visit Vienna again at any time in the future. The girls gained a great deal from this trip and the College is looking forward to welcoming the five Viennese host students to Eastbourne in September.
