Year 9 Drama Festival 2015
The 2015 Year 9 House Drama Festival saw every pupil in the year group walk the stage in their first term in the school performing shortened versions of West End shows, from Mamma Mia to Wicked, though Oliver! and Les Miserables.
The external adjudicator, Mr Sean McLevy, formerly deputy director of Mountview Theatre School, praised the pupils for the positive energy, innovation and creativity. He was particularly impressed with the direction offered by Year 12 pupils, developing their leadership and creative skills in producing such a vibrant evening’s entertainment.
The best day house performance was deemed to be Reeves with Peter Pan and the boarding house winner was Nugent with Mamma Mia. Champagne moment awards were awarded to 6ft 2ins tall Max Lepere Hunter (Reeves) for his performance as ‘Tinkerbell’ and an amazing cameo performance from Rev Mac as the vicar in Mamma Mia.
Individual awards for outstanding performances went to Maddie Perrett (Arnold) and Henry Turnbull (Pennell).
