Jumping high
On Saturday 12 September the Eastbourne College equestrian team performed superbly in the Inter Schools Jumping with Style competition at St Leonards Mayfield School. The 80cm team, which included Imogen Carr, Lauren Carr, Serena Flower and India Piper-Dadswell, were placed fifth. This result has qualified them for the National Championship Finals for the class – an excellent achievement. In the 90cm team (Imogen Carr, Lauren Carr, Charlotte Giles and Kristy Henty) finished sixth.
On Saturday 19 September, the team recorded one of their most impressive results to date at the Eaglesfield Equestrian Centre in Sevenoaks. Competing against 12 school teams which included Claremont, Cranleigh and St Leonards Mayfield, the 80cm team (Imogen Carr, Mirabelle Kelly, Rosie Kelly and India Piper-Dadswell) all had clear rounds and won the class.
In the 90cm class Imogen Carr, Lauren Carr, Rosie Kelly and India Piper-Dadswell all had clear rounds in show jumping and won the class against eight school teams. Harriett Dipper rode independently with just one pole down and India qualified for the National Finals individually as the second fastest rider.
These remarkable achievements mean that the team will be competing for four separate national titles at the prestigious NSEA Championships Finals during October half-term.
Congratulations to the team and we wish them the best for a successful time at the National Finals.
