The College boys U14 hockey side won the County Cup at Lewes Hockey Club on Monday 9 February when they beat a very neat and tidy Seaford College side that contested the first half so well that it was a touch of luck that gave EC a short corner. Louis Heywood buried a powerful shot into the netting on the stroke of half time to make it 1-0.
As the second half progressed the greater strength on the Eastbourne boys showed and Marcus Winston stole a ball just outside the 23 and deftly slotted the ball home for goal number two. Two mazy runs by tricky winger Will Dawkins and thoughtful passes gave far post goals to Will Wright and Ed Were to complete a 4-0 win.
The College now progress onto the Regional heats at Hurstpierpoint College on 3 March to represent Sussex.
