Last four in South
The U18 girls hockey team travelled up to Kingston Grammar School on Wednesday 19 November to play in the quarter-finals of the regionals.
In a thrilling match with excellent hockey from both sides the College girls created numerous goal scoring opportunities in the first half but couldn’t manage to find a way through. Kingston scored a goal against the run of play and at half time the score was 0–1.
After the break the College team upped their game and came back from behind with Holly Goble scoring an excellent deflected goal before Georgie Moore produced a superb counter attacking move, neatly rounding the goal keeper to put the College ahead.
Despite being put under severe pressure in the final five minutes, the College defended several short corners to win the match 2–1.
They are now in the last four in the South region and progress to the next round which will be held at Southgate Hockey Club on Tuesday 25 November from 10:30am.
