Singing in the rain
On Saturday 4 October seven schools from the Eastbourne Schools Partnership took part in an all-day busking event to raise money for St. Wilfrid’s Hospice at the start of National Hospice Care Week.
Eastbourne College buskers included Nadya Boboshko, Thivya Kularajan, Clarissa Philpott, Eddie Pitman and OE Matt Ginno. Local MP Stephen Lloyd came out to support them.
During the afternoon the musicians and singers busked around the town centre (despite some heavy rain showers) and in the evening they all gathered in the Birley Centre for an ‘Unplugged Concert’.
Over £1000 was raised for St. Wilfrids by the seven participating schools. A certificate of thanks was received by the College from John Summers, Acting Head of Fundraising at the Hospice.
