Headmaster’s Commendations Dec 2013
The Headmaster is pleased to commend the following pupils:
Leo Lightfoot, Year 13, for his winning film entry, Limbo, for the 2013 Vernon Dobtcheff competition: felt by the judge to be an entry of rare creativity and mastery of genre.
Jessica Barnes, Year 13, for her creative realisation of the poetry canon in many media, hand painted and beautifully designed. The judge felt this would win the Vernon Dobtcheff competition in most years.
Lizzie Gardner, Year 13 Watt, for initiating and fully planning a talk given by Mr Buchanan, consultant orthopaedic surgeon from the Conquest Hospital, who came to speak to members of Years 11, 12 and 13 interested in studying medicine.
Anna Simpson, Year 13, for the courageous and mature way she handled a medical emergency in Blackwater House.
Harrison Kerr, Year 12 Powell, for his excellent essay submitted for the Engineering Architecture Prize run by the Institution of Structural Engineers. It demonstrated academic strength allied to personal commitment and drive.
