Showjumping success Dec 2013
On Saturday 30 November the College show-jumping team competed against 20 other schools in the NSEA inter-schools county qualifier at the Golden Cross Equestrian centre in Hailsham. They all rode well and the team finished in fifth place for the 70cm and 80cm classes.
Lauren Carr was the second fastest rider to get a clear round in the 70cm course and this result has secured her a place at the NSEA National County Finals for show jumping in April – an incredible achievement.
The Eastbourne College team riders (horses in brackets) were:
70cm class: Lauren Carr (Merlin Brando); Harriet Dipper (Magnum PI) and Rosie Brown (Mac)
80cm class: Team 1: Serena Flower (Millie), Charlotte Giles (Frizby) and Lily Kelly (Thunder)
80cm class: Team 2: Lauren Carr (Merlin Brando), Harriet Dipper (Magnum PI) and Rosie Brown (Mac)
90cm class: Serena Flower (Millie), Charlotte Giles (Frizby) and Lily Kelly (Thunder).
