Highest score in the UK
In early March 2014 Harold Wolstenholme travelled to Cardiff to receive an award from WJEC examining board for the exceptional mark he achieved in his A Level Design and technology exam. The award was presented to Harold by Huw Lewis, Education Minister for Wales.
Harold, who completed his studies at the College in June 2013, received 383 UMS marks out of a possible 400 in his A Level Design and Technology exam. This was the highest score of all candidates who took the qualification with WJEC in 2013.
In a letter to the Headmaster to inform him of Harold’s success, Gareth Pierce, Chief Executive of WJEC commented, “This is an outstanding achievement, and evidence of the hard work of Harold and his teachers in preparing for the assessment.
