Trip to University of Cambridge for Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology Award Winners
In June, Year 13 pupils Alisa, Cindia, Denise, James and Susan won the University of Cambridge Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology Davidson Award. The team worked independently throughout the project and were one of four teams in the country to reach the final with their ‘Izy Solution’.
Being the winners, competing against over 50 schools, they were invited to spend the day at the University of Cambridge as a reward for their success. They had the opportunity to design the miniature version of their winning invention and print it as a 3D model. They had a talk from a Cambridge admissions tutor, and spent time talking with PhD students. They also got to experience a chauffeured punting tour and visited the Kings Chapel!
