World class sailor
Rex Farrant, Year 10 Wargrave, and his crew finished in a very creditable 52nd place out of 182 boats in the FEVA World Championships in Italy over the summer.
Rex is already part of the Great Britain team but, during the competition, he beat a number of teams in the Elite National Squad who had been training all winter for the World Championships. He was competing against boys two to three years older than him from all around the world.
He has now stopped competing in the FEVA class of boats and has taken up sailing 29er’s – an Olympic-sized boat. He has already started to receive coaching from the current national champion in this class. We will watch Rex’s progress in the international sailing arena with interest.
