Biology Olympiad gold medal
Four Eastbourne College sixth form pupils have gained awards in this year’s Biology Olympiad, a national competition organised by the Society of Biology. It attracted over 4200 entries by able A level pupils from across the UK.
Edward Lewis finished within the top 150 participants and achieved a gold medal. He progressed to the second round of the competition but narrowly missed out on a place in the final. This is only the second time that a College pupil has been awarded a gold medal. Edward has an offer to read Medicine at Cambridge University in September.
The other successful pupils were Dominic York (Silver Medal), Henry Miller (Highly Commended) and Harris Bilal (Highly Commended). The photograph here shows Edward Lewis and Dominic York.
