National Champion for 4th time
At the recent National Girls’ Schools’ Fives Championships at Marlborough College, Tessa Mills, Year 13 Nugent, was totally dominant in the Senior Singles competition. After winning each of her first four matches with the score of 15–0, she went on to meet the number one player from Rugby School in the final.
An awesome display of powerful hitting and excellent shot placement resulted in a resounding winning score of 15–2. This is the fourth consecutive year that Tessa has won the Senior Singles title – a remarkable achievement that is unlikely ever to be equalled.
In the Senior Doubles competition, Tessa and her partner, Isabella Why, beat the Rugby School pair to win 15–2, due largely to some excellent play by Izzy who scored a straight run of eight points in the middle of the game to set up a very comfortable victory.
