Birley Unplugged
A group of extremely talented singer/ song writers delighted an enthusiastic audience in the Birley Centre auditorium on Tuesday 16 April. The breadth of song writing ability and the standard of performance were of an extremely high quality.
A number of the performers had been enjoying regular weekly workshops with professional musician and songwriter, Tom Williams in the Simon Eckhert Recording Studio within the Birley Centre.
Eastbourne College pupils who took part were Hal Hudson, Matt Ginno, Imogen Russell, Poppy Hopson, Ellie Wicks, Daisy Stubbings and Katie Brauer. These performers were joined by local musicians Ed Stokes, Ollie Noble, Dan Gottlieb and Amber Earley to provide an evening of great entertainment.
There will be a CD available and there are plans to provide more performance opportunities for this extremely gifted group, as well as any others who would like to be involved. Thanks must go to Hal Robinson and Joe Tickle who recorded the event and provided technical support, including some great lighting effects which really added to the atmosphere. The hosts for the evening, Lizzie Prideaux and Matt Prifti, did a superb job too.
