D&T pupils in final
Seventeen Eastbourne College students took part in a competition run by Eastbourne Borough Council to design a replacement for the Wish Tower café that was demolished last year. Each team contained an A level DT Architecture student to lead on the design element and other students with complementary skills took roles as managers, marketing and finance to develop a business plan.
Two teams reached the final where they presented their proposals to a jury at the Congress Theatre. Team DEKKS was placed second (included Henry Smith, Kelly Kuo and Stephen Burchett) and Team Pegasus was one of the runners up (Felix Arnold, Jamie Adams, Jaspal Singh, Freddie Henderson). Pupils who took part in the earlier stages were Kajal Radia, Haoxin Fei, Ben Foster, Bill Corfield, Arith Fonseka, Isaac Brown, Jessica Porter, Michelle Chin and Tammy Tam.
