First ever national rugby final for the College
On Tuesday 15 March, our 1st XV rugby team travelled to London to the StoneX Stadium, home of Saracens RFC for the England Rugby RFU U18 Bowl Final.
After months of training and play-off matches, the boys were ready to take on a tough side, Nottingham High School. With supporters at the StoneX Stadium and all the way back in Eastbourne at the College the game was a nail-biter for all spectators. At half time our boys were leading 5-6 at and it was anyone’s game. Despite their efforts to the final whistle, the score ended as 29-16 to the opposition.
Although it wasn’t the result the team hoped for, we are extremely proud of their fantastic achievement, especially as this was the College’s first ever national rugby final in its illustrious rugby history. A huge thank you to the rugby coaches for their invaluable input and support.
The performance, journey to the final and all the memories created will be with them for life.
