Prep Schools’ Jazz Day
On Thursday 7 February over 60 young musicians from seven local prep schools gathered at Eastbourne College to take part in the fourteenth annual Jazz Day.
The day commenced with a series of small group workshops and culminated in a performance for visiting parents and staff in the Jennifer Winn Auditorium of the Birley Centre. The children played a number of short pieces specially arranged for the event by Mr David Force, Head of Academic Music at the College.
In addition to the very valuable musical experience, the visiting pupils also had the opportunity to try a range of other activities during their lunch break. These included drama, design and technology, dodge-ball and cookery.
