Emmanuel represents Zimbabwe in the U19 Cricket World Cup
We are extremely proud of Year 12 pupil, Emmanuel Bawa, on being selected to represent Zimbabwe in the Men’s U19 Cricket World Cup and for captaining the team earlier this year.
Of the 16 teams in the competition, Zimbabwe came 11th after winning 2 out of 6 of their matches against Afghanistan, Ireland, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Scotland and West Indies, of which the latter 2 were extremely close. Even though he was not 100% satisfied with his performance throughout the competition, Emmanuel played some excellent cricket and lead the team well with utmost professionalism, despite sometimes feeling slightly overwhelmed!
“It was a true honour to have the opportunity to not only represent Zimbabwe, but also captain the side. Overall it was an extremely enjoyable and humbling experience that I will remember for the rest of my life.”
It is great to have Emmanuel back at the College, as he prepares for the summer cricket season with his fellow team mates at Eastbourne College.
