U16 hockey success
The U16A girls’ hockey team recently gave an outstanding
performance in the Sussex Cup and qualified for the regional finals in
November. They won all three round matches convincingly, acquiring a mass of 21
goals and not conceding any. They then qualified for the semi-final against
Ardingly which was a well fought battle of some quality hockey. The girls
created many scoring opportunities in the first half, but Ardingly defended
well. Thankfully a superb reverse hit shot from Captain Florence Ferrari gained
a 1-0 win to take them into the final against Hurstpierpoint. The final was
outstanding quality and both teams created numerous opportunities with Hurst pipping
Eastbourne to the post with a 2-0 win to take the title.
